Where not to go in Manhattan

Sweater: Free People | Skirt: Topshop | Shoes: H&M (linked similar) | Watch: Daniel Wellington

Y'all, I look happy in these photos, but taking them was nothing short of a disaster. My friend Caity and I wanted to take photos together, her only time period was after work at 5 PM and we had to stay in Midtown, close to the train station so she could catch the 6:30 train. I'm pretty much sick of the usual midtown spots for photos (like Bryant Park and Flatiron) so we decided to go to a random park we found in Midtown East (an area that I NEVER go to because it's just so random and there's nothing there). Turns out, we weren't missing out on anything by never going there. It was lifeless compared to the lively, cultured streets of Midtown West and Downtown –essentially only filled with nannies walking kids and dogs around. Even the stretch of land along the east river was obscured by FDR highway and construction. We managed to squeeze out a few decent pics despite the terrible late afternoon sunlight, but it was hard because there weren't many cute backdrops to take photos near. Moral of the story: don't bother going to Midtown East!
On a more positive note: I've been looking for a slouchy, cropped sweater that's easy to wear with high waisted things and I'm happy to say I've found the perfect one! This white Free People sweater is so cozy and flattering and I'm super excited to wear it into the fall with high waisted jeans and cute skirts paired with tights/over the knee boots. For this shoot, I paired it with the Topshop skirt that I've probably worn 10 million times this summer (I can't help it –it goes with everything!) and cute striped flats I got for cheap at H&M forever ago. This sweater is selling out in different sizes fast so I linked several retailers that are selling it to maximize the chances of finding the right size! Oh, and if y'all know of any similar sweaters, please let me know in the comments because I'm looking to get this style in multiple colors :)
