First of all, I would like to apologize for my lack of blog posts (and lack of posts on all social media for that matter). For those of you who don't know I just started school at The Fashion Institute of Technology and this past week was orientation week! I've been so busy exploring the city, meeting people and spending time with my three amazing roommates (who are already like my BFFs) that I haven't had much time to be on social media or take blog photos. My roommates and I went exploring Central Park yesterday so I used that as an opportunity to get some blog pictures!

This blog post is actually a collab with my sweet friend, Claire (otherwise known as Precious as a Peony) so head on over to her blog to check out her white on white outfit! Claire is probably the sweetest person I've ever met and her blog and style are on point. If you like my style, I know you'll like hers too!

A polo button down is one of the most important staple pieces in my wardrobe. I wear them so much that I found myself running out of ways to style them! That's where the idea to tie up the ends of the button down into a cute little knot came from. Button downs are typically not considered a summer piece but I think tying a knot in it, rolling up the sleeves and adding a bright statement necklace creates a fun and classic look for summer.
P.S. if you are looking to purchase a Ralph Lauren button down, do NOT buy one from the Ralph Lauren website. It's listed for $98 on the website, but you can go to the Polo Factory store and purchase the same thing for about $50. I do not believe there is a website for the factory store.

Those who have followed me for a while should know by now that I absolutely LOVE paper bag styled skirts. I'm really self conscious about the shape of my waste and hips so I love that paper bag skirts are very flattering to that area of the body and pair well with so many of my tops. I recently came across the company, Caroline Dawn, and fell in love with their designs. I was specifically drawn to this bright pineapple printed one because it is perfect for summer. Here are a few reasons why I like Caroline Dawn skirts:

   - They seem to be as well made and high quality as the Jcrew paper bag skirts
   - They come in two different lengths so you can choose based on if you like your skirts longer or          shorter
   - They come in a variety of colors and patterns
   - They have a lining underneath so they are not see through
   - They are affordable! The pineapple skirt I'm wearing is only $35!

I really recommend heading over to the Caroline Dawn website. They also have cute dresses, shorts and tops!

I had the most fabulous time visiting Isabella and Jim in Savannah this weekend (s/o to Isabella for letting me crash at her house and Jim for taking us out on his boat)! I hadn't visited Savannah since I was six so it was basically the first time for me. The town is absolutely breathtaking and adorable at the same time and I couldn't get enough of those low to the ground southern trees with the Spanish moss hanging from them. Unfortunately, it was raining all day Sunday (sucks for blog pictures). However, with Isabella's rockin' camera and the picturesque scenery of her neighborhood, we were still able to snap some pretty good pics!
