These (Bean) Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Sweater: Jcrew Factory | Jeans: Articles of Society | Boots: L.L. Bean | Coat: Jcrew Socks: H&M | Hat: Jcrew | Sunglasses: Ray-ban

Last Sunday was quite an adventure! I ventured over to the Brooklyn Bridge and saw one of the best views of New York City I had ever seen. I had never been quite that far over on the east side so it was cool to explore that area too. The highlight of the weekend, though, definitely was meeting and getting to hang out with Ashley (better known as History in High Heels). She and our mutual friend, Emily, got brunch together on Friday and spent the day exploring on Sunday. Many of the items I wore in this post are unfortunately no longer available since stores are starting to clear out for spring merchandise, but I've linked similar items below!

Special thanks to Emily Byrski and Noah Williams for their cameras and photography skills that produced these amazing photos!

Valentine's Day Blush

Sweater: Reiss | Jacket: Express | Dress: Yumi Kim | Clutch: Rebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: "Rebel" by MAC

I had an incredible start to fashion week thanks to Shopstyle! They hosted a super chic and fun event on Saturday for all us bloggers affiliated with Shopstyle Collective. The coolest part of the event was they had clothing racks filled with adorable clothes from popular brands like Express, Neiman Marcus and Sole Society. They let us pick out whatever we wanted and lent it out to us to style for our blogs. The first thing that stood out to me was this incredibly soft and cozy sweater from the UK brand, Reiss. I gave the outfit some dimension by layering the sweater with this flowy blush colored dress from Yumi Kim and a suede Express jacket. I picked up this clutch from Rebecca Minkoff's new line because it is TO DIE FOR and it puts the perfect finishing touch on this outfit!

Wool Sweater in Washington Square Park

Sweater: Madewell (on major sale!) | Pants: Articles of Society | Shoes: Madewell | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Earrings: Kendra Scott

Ok so I will admit it, I've been wearing A LOT of clothing from Madewell lately. I just can't help it! I will walk into the store and literally every piece of clothing they have in there is cute. It doesn't help that their sale selection is to die for. The sale section of most stores just has a bunch of the grossest clothes the brand produced that season that no one wanted to buy but Madewell actually has a sale section abundant with cute pieces in many different sizes. The majority of the stuff I have from there is actually from the sale section. I just got this ultra cozy knit sweater from Madewell and I've been obsessing over it. It's the perfect piece to throw on when you just want to be lazy and comfortable but still look put together. The way I styled it in this post is super simple but I think the turquoise earrings add a nice zest to the outfit! Disclaimer: this post is not sponsored by Madewell, I just really love their clothes. I WISH it was sponsored by Madewell but sadly it is not.

Prom Dress Guide 2016 (All under $400!)

Flynn Skye | Joanna August | Boutique 1861 | BCBGeneration | Lulu's | Monique Lhuillier | Asos | Adrianna Papell | Nouvelle Amsale

If you are new to the game of prom dress hunting, be warned that it is HARD. There just aren't that many fancy dresses out there that are cute (and non-matronly) and sold for a reasonable price. And once you do find that perfect dress, the chances of it being sold out in your size are high. Even if you go to a high school that has prom in June, I would recommend starting the prom dress search now. My high school had prom in late April and I would always see girls frantically searching a month before and freaking out because there were no good dresses left. I spent quite a while putting this prom dress guide together for you high school Junior and Senior girls in hope that it will make your prom dress hunt a bit easier. I tried to include a variety of price points and choose dresses that were still available in the majority of sizes. Leave feedback below and let me know if this helped you find your prom dress! Also, I have included more dresses that aren't in the photo collage in the widget below so check those out too :)

TIP: If you don't like the dresses I've displayed here, check out the brands/retailers in general because many of them have other great prom appropriate dresses!

Knits, Wool & Suede

Sweater: Madewell | Skirt: Forever 21 | Shoes: Aldo | Coat: Asos | Necklace: Kendra Scott

I was over the moon excited when I got my hands on this sweater from Madewell because it neutral, good quality knit sweaters are what I live for and wear on an every day basis for the most part. I decided to pair it with this wool, tribal print mini skirt I got a couple months back, a tassel necklace and these great suede booties. A lot of the items I'm wearing are old/sold out but I will link some similar ones below!
